Dinanagar, December 13, 2024 (Punjab Khabarnama Bureau) – The raid conducted by the police along with women police in a restaurant in Pump Wali Market of Dinanagar city remained a topic of discussion in the city for the whole day. Dinanagar police was seen washing its hands off the whole matter by saying that it was an action taken in search of a wanted person.
According to the information received from reliable sources in this regard, Dinanagar Police and Special Cell team, along with about a dozen employees including women police personnel, carried out a joint operation and suddenly raided a restaurant in a market located behind the petrol pump. During this police operation which lasted for about an hour, a huge crowd of people started gathering outside the restaurant. People, on the condition of anonymity, said that this restaurant has become a hub for boys and girls to carry out illegal business. Minor boys and girls are often seen entering here. The people around are unhappy with this.
People of the area told that today when the police raided this restaurant and after about an hour, first the girls and then the boys were slowly taken out, then the police also left the restaurant. After closing the restaurant, the police took the two people running the restaurant with them to the police station.
On the other hand, when SHO Dina Nagar Ajvinder Singh was talked to in connection with this action, he denied any kind of immoral activity inside the restaurant and only said that the police had come here in search of a wanted person. When a dozen boys and girls who came out after an hour during the police action were asked, the police only said that these people were celebrating a birthday party inside the restaurant.
People dissatisfied with this action of Dinanagar police say that there is definitely something fishy but if a high level investigation is done then everything can come out. Residents of the area say that there are about a dozen restaurants or food corners in Dinanagar city where debauchery goes on all day without any fear. People have demanded from the higher officials of the administration that strict ban should be imposed on the restaurants and food corners which carry out such activities so that action can be taken against those who make huge money by playing with the lives of boys and girls. Now it has to be seen whether the police take action against the people involved in such business or everything continues like this.
