Patna, December 13, 2024 (Punjab Khabarnama Bureau) – Bihar Agriculture Minister Mangal Pandey on Thursday said that through the Drone Didi scheme, the first population i.e. women can be developed technically and economically.   Agriculture Minister Pandey inaugurated a one-day workshop for selected women self-help groups under Drone Didi Yojana in Bameti, Patna on Thursday.
In a workshop held at the local Bamet Auditorium, the Minister of Agriculture addressed the women of 201 self-help groups from 16 districts of the state and said that if we move at a fast pace, we will understand, accept and use the new technology and we will not be left behind. This scheme came from the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi and it has been launched under the guidance of CM Nitish Kumar. Which will benefit all of us. Pandey said that this scheme was named Drone Didi Yojana so that the first population i.e. women can be developed technically and financially.
In this scheme, 80 percent i.e. subsidy of eight lakhs is being given for the entire kit including the drone. The remaining 2 lakhs will be given to you through livelihood groups. The target is to connect 14 thousand 500 groups with drone didi scheme in this financial year 2024-25 and next financial year 2025-26 across the country. By which a developed India and a developed Bihar can be created. Farmers in the state have access to conventional knapsack, hand rocking sprayer etc. spraying equipment. At present, ultra-modern and automatic sprayers (drones) are being used experimentally by Krishi Vigyan Kendra and other agricultural institutes. The use of drones is saving time and capital along with less amount of pesticides, which will increase the productivity and income of the farmers.

The Agriculture Minister said that under this scheme, the Government of India has set a target of distributing a total of 201 drones to the state of Bihar. Free 15 days drone pilot training will be provided in Patna. For effective implementation and continuous monitoring of the Drone Didi Scheme, a State Level Committee has been constituted under the chairmanship of the Secretary, Agriculture Department, under whose guidance the scheme will be implemented.
