Chandigarh, December 4, 2024 (Punjab Khabarnama Bureau)- Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former Chief Minister of Punjab, Captain Amarinder Singh, today strongly condemned the murderous attack on Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal at the Sri Harmandir Sahib complex.
In a statement, Captain Amarinder expressed relief that Badal was safe and had not been injured or shot. He praised the person present at the scene who subdued the attacker and twisted his arm, preventing the bullet from hitting Badal.
The former Chief Minister said that Badal had been pardoned at the Akal Takht and was receiving the penalty within the Sri Harmandir Sahib complex. He added that those who attacked the Akali leader had violated Sikh ethics.
Captain Amarinder emphasized that Punjab had already suffered greatly during the 1980s and 1990s, and it cannot endure another dark period. He urged people to be cautious of forces attempting to disrupt the peace of Punjab.
