Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) has increased the prices of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG). The company announced a price hike of 1.5 to 4 rupees per kilogram. However, IGL has kept Delhi exempt from this price hike. Along with this, the price of CNG has increased in NCR cities like Noida, Greater Noida, and Gurugram. This price hike is expected to impact nearly 30% of IGL’s operational areas. 70% of the company’s total CNG consumption comes from Delhi.
Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) has increased the price by 2 rupees per kilogram in Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, Karnal, and Kaithal. In Rajasthan’s Ajmer, Pali, and Rajsamand, the price has increased by 1.5 rupees per kilogram. In Muzaffarnagar, Meerut, Shamli, Mahoba, Banda, and Chitrakoot, IGL has increased the price by 3 rupees per kilogram.
Prices in Mumbai have already increased. In Mumbai, the prices of CNG were already raised. Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) increased the price of CNG by 2 rupees per kilogram, from 75 rupees per kilogram to 77 rupees per kilogram. After the government cut the supply of cheaper natural gas from old gas fields by 20% starting November 16, IGL and MGL increased CNG prices. Earlier, on October 16, the supply was cut by 21%. After these reductions, gas companies like IGL, MGL, and Adani Total Gas had expressed concerns about the impact on their profits.
