England interim head coach Marcus Trescothick has admitted that it has been a challenging time for the team since the ODI series loss to the West Indies. A packed cricket schedule meant England fielded a number of new players on their one-day tour of the Caribbean, but lost 2-1 to record a third consecutive series defeat in the format.
“It’s been a really challenging time for us. The boys have just finished the Test series in Pakistan. Another Test series is starting within 20 days. We know where we are. We saw some things we wanted to see,” Trescothick told TNT Sports at the end of the series.
In the series decider at the Kensington Oval in Barbados, Brandon King’s 102 was followed by Casey Carty’s unbeaten 128 off just 114 balls, helping the West Indies to 263/8 with seven overs to clinch an emphatic series win. chased
Trescothick also felt that young all-rounder Jacob Bethel, who scored a half-century in the second match of the series won by England, is a bright find for the visitors. “We have a better understanding of what our team will look like compared to the results of the series.”
