The change in weather is having a big impact on dengue cases. Till September, there were 25 cases of dengue in the city, which have now increased to 153. According to the Health Department, after the monsoon, there are more chances of dengue in September, October and November. At the same time, October is the peak season. Guidelines have been issued for the people regarding dengue, so that people can stay safe. According to doctors, the weather is still hot during the day, while the nights have started getting cold. With the decrease in day temperature, dengue cases will also start decreasing. Seeing the increasing cases of dengue, the Health Department has increased field activity. There were 88 cases in September 2023 itself. Now seeing the increasing cases, the Health Department has asked people to be alert. With the changing weather, along with dengue, many cases of fever, cough and cold are coming up in OPD. Sampling of 20 to 30 patients is being done every day, which also includes testing for dengue and malaria.

This is how you can prevent dengue:
Do not let water collect inside or outside the house and in coolers or other utensils etc. Use medicines like Odomos etc.

You can get the test done here.
Free testing facilities (Dengue NS1/IgM ELISA) are available at GMSH-16, GMCH-32 and PGI. Free testing for malaria parasites is available at all malaria units in AAM (Ayushman Arogya Mandir), Civil Hospital and GMSH-16. So, there is a dedicated dengue helpline number (7626002036) for fogging and other related complaints.

Do not ignore the symptoms.
If a person has fever and pain in bones and joints for more than a week, get yourself examined immediately. If there is bleeding from the nose and teeth, it could be dengue. Blood in vomiting, fast breathing and low blood platelets can be the cause of dengue.
