Georgian President Salome Zurabichvili rejected the results of the parliamentary election as a “huge fraud”.
In a press briefing on Sunday, he said the president and the opposition would not reconcile with fraudulent elections.
“I do not accept this election. It cannot be accepted,” Zourbichvili said, calling on citizens to demonstrate outside the Georgian parliament.
On Saturday, Georgia held its parliamentary elections for the first time under a fully proportional system. According to the news agency report, about 90 percent of the voters cast their votes through the electronic devices installed at the polling stations.
The Central Election Commission said late on Saturday that the ruling Georgian Dream Party had won the parliamentary elections.
