The latest season of the reality streaming series Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives saw the addition of three more celebrities to the main cast — Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, Shalini Passi and Kalyani Saha Chawla — setting the stage for a Delhi vs Mumbai showdown and hence the refashioning of the title to ‘Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives’. For Riddhima, the daughter of Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor, this marks a major moment in her life, as she makes her screen debut after years of establishing herself as an entrepreneur, continuing the rich cinematic legacy of her family, which includes her brother Ranbir Kapoor and his wife Alia Bhatt too.
During the promotions for Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives Season 3, Riddhima received a heartwarming message from her sister-in-law Alia Bhatt, sharing how much Riddhima means to her. In a voice message shared with Galatta India, Alia playfully teased Riddhima, calling her the biggest gossiper among them, highlighting the affectionate bond the two share. “I am so proud of you, we all are. You have always been fabulous, and there’s never been any doubt about that,” Alia said, leaving Riddhima delighted.
“If there’s anybody who has all the khabar (news) in the world, that’s Riddhima. She casually drops the biggest gossip bombs and all of it usually ends up being true. So, she’s way ahead of all of us, especially her brother (Ranbir). But, she is also the kindest, loving, generous human being who only has love to give. She is also the most entertaining and fabulous bua (aunt) who has taught Raha all kinds of things. Thanks to you, I am doing ‘Uma Joshi ye ye ye’ almost 20 times a day. I feel very happy and grateful to have you in my life as the most wonderful sister. I won’t say sister-in-law because you are more than that,” Alia adds.
Mentioning that she and Alia have always felt comfortable with each other, Riddhima shared that while the family respects Alia and Ranbir’s privacy, Alia makes a real effort to stay connected with the family. “The love (between the two sisters-in-law) happened very naturally and nothing is forced upon. It’s a very natural bonding,” she said.
She also opened up about Ranbir’s relationship with his daughter Raha. “Ranbir’s eyes sparkle and shine when he sees Raha. He just becomes a new person. Otherwise, he’s like very chup-chap (quite), in a zen mode. He becomes like that (hyper) only in front of the camera and his daughter,” she shared, adding that Raha now adorably calls her “booha” as she’s still learning to say bua.
