17 october 2024 : A Pune man made a heartfelt plea on social media after his scooter, the last keepsake from his late mother, was stolen. In his emotional post, he even offered to buy the thief a new scooter if they returned the stolen one.

Abhay Chaugule shared on Instagram that his black Activa was stolen on Dussehra from the Kothrud area near a statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Despite searching the area extensively and filing a police report, the scooter remains missing. Chaugule explained that the scooter, which his mother had bought before her death, holds deep sentimental value for him.

His mother passed away three months ago after a long battle with cancer, and Chaugule also lost his father two years ago to Covid-19.

In his social media post written in Marathi, Chaugule shared the details of the theft, including the scooter’s registration number, MH14BZ6036, and emphasized its importance as his mother’s last memory. He requested help in locating the vehicle, providing his contact number and Instagram ID for leads. He captioned his post, “Please help me find my BLACK ACTIVA MH14BZ6036. It was stolen from Kothrud on Dussehra Night. Please contact me at 9766617464 or DM me on Instagram @abhayanjuu,” using hashtags like ‘activa’ and ‘blackactivamissing.’

The post touched many, who offered their support and hoped that the police would recover the scooter soon.

In the second part of his message, Chaugule made a direct appeal to the thief, urging them to return the scooter, stressing that it was a precious memory of his mother, who had worked hard to purchase it. He even offered to buy the thief a new two-wheeler in exchange for returning his mother’s Activa.
