11 october 2024 : Diksha Dagar will lead the Indian contingent in the 2024 Hero Women’s Indian Open, scheduled from October 24 to 27 at the DLF Golf and Country Club in Gurugram. The tournament, which boasts a prize purse of USD 400,000, will feature strong competition, including Chiara Tamburlini from Switzerland, the current Ladies European Tour Order of Merit leader.
Diksha, who secured third place in the previous year’s edition, will be joined by fellow Indian golfer Gaurika Bishnoi, who finished eighth in 2023. The tournament will also see the return of three former champions: Christine Wolf (2019), Camille Chevalier (2017), and Caroline Hedwall (2011).
Other notable participants include Trichat Cheenglab of Thailand, the 2023 Order of Merit winner, and South African Lee Anne Pace, a past OOM winner. Swiss golfer Tamburlini, who recently claimed victories at the Joburg Ladies Open and Lacoste Open de France, is expected to be one of the top contenders. Additionally, amateur Avani Prashanth, who tied for fifth last year, will compete as a professional for the first time, having earned a special invitation.
This prestigious event brings together some of the region’s best talent and is a significant date on the golfing calendar.
