11 october 2024 : Koratala Siva, director of Devara, is eyeing a North-South crossover for the sequel, following the success of the first part which featured Saif Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor. In an interview with Zoom, he shared his aspirations for the next installment, revealing his wish to cast Bollywood stars Ranveer Singh or Ranbir Kapoor in prominent roles, rather than just cameos.
He emphasized that he envisions these actors in significant characters, not just brief appearances. While he didn’t want to reveal too many names, he teased that more character details would be revealed soon.
Devara: Part 1 featured Jr NTR in a dual role as Devara and Varadha, with a plot centered around power struggles in a coastal backdrop. Saif Ali Khan played the antagonist, and Janhvi Kapoor made her Telugu debut as Jr NTR’s love interest. Directed by Koratala Siva, the film reunited him with Jr NTR after their successful collaboration on Janatha Garage. It was released on September 27 across multiple languages.
