30 september 2024 : Mukesh Khanna Discusses Ranveer Singh and Shaktimaan RoleMukesh Khanna recently addressed rumors that Ranveer Singh was being considered for the role of Shaktimaan. The veteran actor, who had previously denied these claims, elaborated on his reasoning in an interview with Bollywood Thikana, citing Ranveer’s nude photoshoot as a key factor in his hesitation to cast him.
When asked about his meeting with Ranveer and why he believes the actor may not be suited for Shaktimaan, Mukesh stated, “I don’t name names because I don’t want to criticize any actor; people can take offense. But everyone knows that Ranveer Singh tried to convince me. I can’t hide that I called him a ‘terrific actor’ and praised his ‘energy.’ However, some people started sharing pictures on social media as if Ranveer had been confirmed for the role. Since I hadn’t made a decision yet due to my contract with Sony, I posted a video clarifying that I hadn’t announced anything regarding the lead actor, so people should wait.”
He continued, “That poor guy (Ranveer Singh) sat in front of me for three hours, but I don’t think he has the demeanor needed to play Shaktimaan. He comes across as fickle, like someone who might deceive others. Still, he is a terrific actor. I mentioned in my praise that no one else in the industry matches his energy, but I haven’t approved him for the role. He might have felt disappointed. However, in the industry, it’s the producer who decides on the casting, not the actor. That photoshoot (a nude shoot for Dirty magazine) was a significant reason for my aversion to him. When I saw it, I thought, ‘What is he doing?’”

Ranveer was last seen in Rohit Shetty’s Cirkus and will next appear in Singham Again, which features Ajay Devgn in the lead role. The film also includes Deepika Padukone, Kareena Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Tiger Shroff, and others in key roles.
