September 25, 2024, the Indian men’s hockey team is set to play a two-match series against Germany on October 23 and 24 at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium. Hockey India announced this today. The last encounter between India and Germany occurred in the semi-finals of the Paris Olympics, where the European powerhouse triumphed 3-2. India secured a bronze medal by defeating Spain in the playoff for third place at the Olympics.

Hockey India president Dilip Tirkey stated, “This series against Germany will showcase world-class hockey. Both India and Germany have a rich history in the sport, and fans will get to witness intense competition between two of the strongest teams in the world. We take pride in hosting this event, which will also strengthen the ties between the two nations.”

Hockey India General Secretary Bhola Nath Singh added, “The India-Germany hockey rivalry has always been intriguing. Our players are excited to compete against a strong team.”
