24 september 2024 : Last week, reports surfaced claiming that actor-producer Simran had approached her former co-star Vijay for a role in a big-budget project, but that he “politely declined.” Simran has now addressed these rumors on X (formerly Twitter), expressing disappointment over the speculation about her career.
Simran Denounces Rumors:
Simran expressed frustration on X, stating that she’s hurt by how some people emotionally manipulate her, while her so-called “friends” remain indifferent. Without naming anyone, she made it clear that she’s not “desperate” to work with “big heroes.”
She wrote, “It’s disheartening to see how easily people can manipulate you emotionally and how little your friends seem to care. I’ve kept quiet until now, but I want to be clear: I’m not desperate to line up work with any big heroes. I’ve done that already. My priorities are different now, and as a woman, I understand my boundaries.”
Simran further shared that she remained silent for years when her name was linked to others, but her self-respect now drives her to speak up. “No one tried to stop these rumors or cared about how I felt. I’ve never used my name for personal gain. I’ve always stood up for what’s right and expect the same honesty from others in the industry. Those spreading false rumors owe me an apology.”
Husband Deepak Bagga Clarifies:
Simran’s husband, Deepak Bagga, who is producing her upcoming film The Last One, clarified to DC that neither he nor Simran ever contacted Vijay and that the rumors are completely unfounded. He emphasized that Simran only seeks roles that match her stature and popularity.
Simran also told News 18 that the responsibility to stop such rumors lies with the production house. She said, “The production house must intervene if such rumors arise. I chose to speak out because these things keep happening, and it’s important to stop. I’m not just speaking for myself, but for everyone facing similar harassment.”
In addition to The Last One, Simran is set to appear in the Tamil film Sabdham.
