23 september 2024 : The Hindu Mahasabha has announced a bandh in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, on October 6 to protest against the upcoming T20 cricket match between India and Bangladesh, citing ongoing “atrocities” against Hindus in Bangladesh. The match is set to take place on the same day.

Jaiveer Bharadwaj, the national vice president of the Hindu Mahasabha, stated that it is inappropriate to engage in sporting events with Bangladesh under these circumstances. He assured that the bandh would not affect the availability of essential goods.

Additionally, Bharadwaj condemned the alleged adulteration of laddus at the Tirupati Balaji temple, calling for capital punishment for those responsible. He noted that these laddus were distributed during the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya and expressed that the incident has deeply hurt Hindu sentiments. The country’s food safety regulator has issued a notice to a Tamil Nadu-based company for allegedly supplying substandard ghee to the temple authorities, amidst growing calls for a thorough investigation into the use of animal fat in Tirupati laddus.
