Chandigarh, September 17: Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab government’s people-friendly and development-focused policies have led the Punjab Urban Planning and Development Authority (PUDA) and other regional development authorities to generate a revenue of ₹2,954 crore through e-auction of various properties, which concluded on Monday, September 16.
Providing detailed information, the Chief Minister mentioned that the e-auction started on September 6 and included properties such as group housing, multiplexes, commercial spaces, residential plots, SCOs (Shop-Cum-Offices), booths, and shops. Commending this remarkable success, he highlighted that development authorities under the Department of Housing and Urban Development have offered people from all walks of life the opportunity to purchase their dream properties. Bhagwant Singh Mann further added that there was a strong response from the public, especially those interested in residential plots or planning to start businesses.
The impressive results of the e-auction have validated the state government’s public-friendly policies. Every penny earned through this e-auction will be invested in development projects to provide top-notch facilities to the people. The Chief Minister also lauded the efforts of all officials and employees involved in conducting the e-auction, noting that each of them performed their duties with professionalism and responsibility to ensure the transparency of the entire process.
It’s noteworthy that PUDA successfully auctioned 162 properties of OUAVGL. GMADA auctioned two commercial properties in Sector 62, a plot each in Eco City-1 and Aerocity, three group housing spaces in Sector 66, along with 16 SCOs and 12 booths across various sectors in SAS Nagar. Similarly, GLADA auctioned 32 properties, while the Bathinda Development Authority (BDA) auctioned 23 properties. Amritsar Development Authority (ADA) and Jalandhar Development Authority (JDA) auctioned 34 and 22 properties, respectively, and the Patiala Development Authority (PDA) auctioned 17 properties. The successful bidders will be allotted the properties upon paying 10% of the total amount, and possession will be handed over after a 25% payment of the total amount.
Revenue generated by the development authorities:
- PUDA: ₹224.11 crore
- GMADA: ₹2505.45 crore
- GLADA: ₹108.59 crore
- BDA: ₹46.29 crore
- PDA: ₹21.39 crore
- JDA: ₹20.63 crore
- ADA: ₹19.25 crore
Total: ₹2945.71 crore
