16 september 2024 : Four MGNREGA workers—three men and a woman—were killed in an accident today on the Sunam-Patiala road, near Bishanpura village.
The victims, Jarnail Singh, Harpal Singh, Chhota Singh, and Gurdev Kaur, were all from Bishanpura village. According to Inspector Parteek Jindal, SHO of the City Police Station in Sunam, the workers were on the roadside when a truck from Mehlan village struck them. The truck dragged them for a distance before they died at the scene.
