september 2024 : Striker Raj Kumar’s hat-trick led the Indian hockey team to an 8-1 victory over Malaysia today, securing a place in the semifinals of the Asian Champions Trophy. Raj Kumar scored three goals (in the 3rd, 25th, and 33rd minutes), while Arjit Singh added two goals (in the 6th and 38th minutes). Additionally, Jugraj Singh, captain Harmanpreet Singh, and Uttam Singh each scored one goal, in the 7th, 22nd, and 4th minutes, respectively. Malaysia’s sole goal was scored by Akhimullah Anuar in the 34th minute.
In an earlier match today, Pakistan defeated Japan 2-1, keeping their hopes of reaching the semifinals alive. India’s next match will be against Korea on Thursday.
