12 september 2024 : Following the death of her father, Anil Mehta, on Wednesday, many celebrities visited television personality and model Malaika Arora. Her ex-boyfriend Arjun Kapoor, along with friends Kareena Kapoor and Karisma Kapoor, were seen arriving at Malaika’s home to offer their condolences. They were all spotted leaving late into the night.
Arjun Kapoor was seen assisting Malaika to her car and was also seen helping Kareena and Karisma with their departure. Malaika left with her son Arhaan Khan, while her sister Amrita Arora and her husband, Shakeel Ladak, also departed together.
In an official statement shared on Instagram, Malaika expressed her family’s deep sadness over Anil Mehta’s passing. She described him as a beloved father, grandfather, and husband, and requested privacy during this difficult time.
Other celebrities, including Saif Ali Khan, Chunky Panday, and Ananya Panday, also visited. The Khan family, including Arbaaz Khan, and Sohail Khan with his parents Salim and Salma Khan, were among those who paid their respects.
Mumbai Police have indicated that the death appears to be a suicide, with an ongoing investigation and post-mortem report. Malaika, who was in Pune at the time, returned to Mumbai immediately upon hearing the news.
