Sinner showcased his baseline game at its best in the final held at Arthur Ashe Stadium, defeating the 12th-seeded Fritz with scores of 6-3, 6-4, 7-5. This victory further extends the wait for an American men’s singles champion at this year’s final Grand Slam tournament to 21 years. The 23-year-old Italian Sinner stated, “This trophy means a lot to me because the past few years of my career have been quite challenging.” This is Sinner’s second Grand Slam title, having previously won the Australian Open men’s singles earlier this year.
