4 september 2024 : Veteran actor Neetu Kapoor paid tribute to her late husband, Rishi Kapoor, on what would have been his 72nd birthday, remembering him with a heartfelt Instagram post on Wednesday.
Rishi Kapoor, known for his roles in popular Hindi films such as Bobby, Karz, Agneepath, Kapoor & Sons, and Mulk, was born on September 4, 1952. He was the middle child of legendary filmmaker Raj Kapoor and Krishna Kapoor’s five children. Rishi Kapoor passed away on April 30, 2020, at the age of 67, after battling cancer for two years.
Neetu Kapoor, who acted alongside him in movies like Rafoo Chakkar, Amar Akbar Anthony, and Do Dooni Chaar, shared a nostalgic photograph of Rishi blowing out candles on his birthday cake. She captioned it, “In remembrance. Would have been 72 today.”
Their daughter, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, also honored her father’s memory by posting a throwback photo of Rishi Kapoor with her daughter, Samara Sahni, alongside a birthday cake. “Happy Birthday, Papa. How I wish you were here celebrating your special day with both your granddaughters,” she wrote, referring to Samara and her niece, Raha Kapoor.
Riddhima described Samara as “all grown up” and Raha, the 22-month-old daughter of actor couple Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, as “mini you.” She added, “Papa, I will always cherish the memories we shared. We miss you so much, and our love for you only deepens with each passing day.”
Raha was born on November 6, 2022, more than two years after Rishi Kapoor’s passing.
