4 september 2024 : In March 2022, after the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government took office in Punjab, the state government launched an anti-corruption help line to combat corruption. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab government introduced the “Anti-Corruption Action Line” with a WhatsApp number (9501 200 200) and a toll-free number (1800-1800-1000) as part of its commitment to “zero tolerance towards corruption.”
If any official demands more money than the official fee, individuals can file a complaint by sending audio or video evidence to the number 9501200200. The Punjab government frequently appeals to the residents of Punjab to report corrupt practices without fear, to help realize the dream of a corruption-free Punjab.
The Punjab government is taking action against those found guilty of corruption based on the complaints received. So far, 702 arrests have been made under the anti-corruption initiative, and the campaign against corruption will continue. The Vigilance Bureau is also playing a crucial role in controlling corrupt practices. Additionally, the Punjab government is organizing seminars and workshops across the state to educate the public about the anti-corruption campaign and to raise awareness.
