4 september 2024 : On Wednesday afternoon, Gurugram experienced a significant spell of rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, resulting in waterlogging, traffic congestion, and power outages across various regions.
Reports indicated that vehicles were immobilized on the old Gurugram-Delhi and Sohna roads, as well as at Rajiv Chowk, Hero Honda Chowk, Subash Chowk, and numerous other locations. Low-lying areas were particularly affected, becoming inundated with water.
Additionally, light to moderate rainfall was recorded during the night between Tuesday and Wednesday in most parts of Gurugram and its neighboring areas.
The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a warning forecasting moderate to heavy rainfall for the upcoming hours. It also noted that light to moderate rain may persist over the next couple of days.
Furthermore, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and light to moderate rain are expected to occur in several locations, including Faridabad, Nuh, Palwal, Bhiwani, Charki Dadri, Jhajjar, and Rohtak, within the next few hours, according to the meteorological report.
