September 3, 2024: Indian badminton player Manisha Ramdas has secured a place in the semifinals of the women’s singles in the SU5 category at the Paralympic Games here today, where she will face fellow countrywoman Tulsi Muthusamy. This ensures another medal for India. Meanwhile, Nitish Kumar reached the final of the men’s singles SL3 category by defeating Japan’s Fujiwara Daisuke with scores of 21-16, 21-12. The 19-year-old player had no difficulty in the quarterfinals, where he beat Japan’s Mamiko Toyoda 21-13, 21-16. In the SL4 category, Indian players Suhas Yatiraj and Sukant Kadam will face each other in the men’s singles semifinals. These two players have already secured India’s first badminton medal. Earlier, Mandeep Kaur and Palak Kohli faced defeat in the quarterfinals. Mandeep, competing in the SL3 category, was unable to challenge Nigeria’s third-seeded Bolaji Mariam Eniola and lost 8-21, 9-21 in 23 minutes.
