27 august 2024 : The Border Security Force (BSF) in Punjab, in partnership with Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology (NIT) in Jalandhar and with the support of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), has launched a five-day boot camp entitled ‘Drone Technology: Ethics and Application for Border Management’ on Monday.
This program is being attended by 45 BSF personnel who will receive comprehensive training from prominent experts in the drone technology sector. The curriculum will cover the latest applications of drone technology, emphasizing the enhancement of operational capabilities.
During the inauguration, Punjab BSF Inspector General Atul Fulzele stated that the boot camp is designed to improve the operational skills of BSF personnel by providing them with advanced knowledge in drone technology, thereby facilitating more effective border management and addressing the issue of drug trafficking.
“The training provided by industry experts will concentrate on the strategic deployment of drones for efficient border management and the fight against drug smuggling. This initiative underscores the BSF’s dedication to incorporating cutting-edge technology into its operations, ensuring that India’s borders are secured with increased accuracy and effectiveness,” he remarked.
Fulzele further noted, “The expertise and skills acquired during this boot camp are anticipated to significantly bolster the operational efficiency of BSF personnel in the field.”
