19 august 2024 : Following the triumph of Bad Newz, Vicky Kaushal is poised to make his return to the silver screen as the esteemed Maratha warrior Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj in the forthcoming film Chhaava, directed by Laxman Utekar. Rashmika Mandanna will take on the role of Yesubai Bhonsale in this production. The filmmakers released the teaser for the movie on Monday, showcasing Vicky in a formidable persona amidst the chaos of battle, fiercely confronting his adversaries.
The teaser opens with a dramatic confrontation occurring along a riverbank, highlighting Vicky Kaushal’s authoritative portrayal of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. A voiceover by Vicky states, “We refer to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj as a lion, and Chhaava as the lion’s offspring.” The visuals then transition to Vicky mounted on a horse, clad in battle gear. Subsequent scenes illustrate his courageous struggle against a multitude of foes. The teaser also reveals Akshaye Khanna’s transformation into Aurangzeb, making him nearly unrecognizable. It culminates with Vicky’s Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj depicted regally seated upon a throne.
Earlier on the same day, the production team also presented the initial look of the film. In the newly released poster, Vicky is depicted in white attire, encircled by adversaries.
