13 august 2024 : According to the National Institutional Rankings Framework (NIRF) 2024, released by the Union Ministry of Education on Monday, six educational institutions, including three government-owned ones from Punjab, have been recognized among the top 100 in the overall category. Notably, the top three positions in Punjab have been claimed by private universities.
Chandigarh University, located in Mohali, has achieved the highest ranking from Punjab, securing the 32nd position in the overall category. This university is owned by Satnam Singh Sandhu, an educationist who recently joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and was appointed to the Rajya Sabha earlier this year.
