13 august 2024 : The tragic incident at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital involved the rape and murder of a trainee doctor, who was reportedly throttled prior to being smothered. The post-mortem examination revealed evidence of “genital torture,” with a significant injury noted in her private area, attributed to “perverted sexuality,” as detailed in a four-page report obtained by India Today.
The assault occurred between 3 AM and 5 AM on August 9, during which the victim sustained injuries to her abdomen, lips, fingers, and left leg. It was determined that her mouth was covered, and her head was forcefully pressed against a wall or the floor to stifle any cries for help. Continuous pressure was applied to her mouth and throat to prevent her from screaming, resulting in bleeding from her eyes, mouth, and genital area.
The victim was discovered deceased in the seminar hall of the hospital, having reportedly gone there to rest after her meal while on night duty. Law enforcement has apprehended a civic volunteer named Sanjoy Roy in connection with the crime.
According to a police official, Sanjoy Roy has a history of consuming disturbing and violent pornography and has been married four times, exhibiting womanizing behavior. His mother has publicly claimed his innocence, asserting that he is being wrongfully accused.
Sanjoy Roy, a trained boxer assigned to the police outpost at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, allegedly returned to his barracks and slept for several hours after the incident. Upon waking, he attempted to wash his clothes to eliminate any evidence. However, investigators discovered blood stains on his shoe, and he was ultimately arrested after a Bluetooth headset belonging to him was located at the crime scene.
