June 11 (Punjab Khabarnama) : Wholesale sales of passenger vehicles in the country grew by four per cent year-on-year to 3,47,492 units in May. Industry body SIAM gave this information on Tuesday. Wholesale sales stood at 3,34,537 units in May 2023.
Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) President Vinod Aggarwal said in a statement, “Passenger vehicles have witnessed only moderate growth, mainly due to the high base effect of last year.” Two-wheeler sales grew 10 per cent to 16,20,084 units in May as against 14,71,550 units in May 2023. Three-wheeler sales grew 15 per cent to 55,763 units last month as against 48,610 units in May 2023.
