June 3 (Punjab Khabarnama) : Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) vehicle sales grew seven per cent year-on-year to 63,551 units in May. The company sold 59,601 vehicles in the same month last year.
The company’s domestic wholesale sales grew one per cent to 49,151 units in May from 48,601 units in May last year. The company said in a statement on Saturday that vehicle exports grew 31 per cent to 14,400 units in May from 11,000 units in May last year.
HMIL Chief Operating Officer (COO) Tarun Garg said, “We have maintained a healthy sales in May 2024 despite the factory being closed for a week due to regular biennial maintenance at our Sriperumbudur factory.” He said that the Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) segment continues to contribute the most to the growth.
