May 31 (Punjab Khabarnama) : A youth of local Khattarpatti has died due to drowning in the canal. According to the information, the deceased Gursevak Singh son of Anwar Singh resident Tapa had gone to attend the death anniversary of Sidhu Moosewala on a motorcycle with his two friends. When they were returning at around 2 o’clock, they stopped their motorcycle. When the heat increased, they started bathing in the canal. The said youth did not know how to swim and hence he drowned in the water. Both his friends came out but he did not come out of the canal. He told the family members in Tapa that Gursevak went to take a bath in the canal but came out.
Meanwhile, a large number of relatives, family members and people from the neighbourhood who reached the spot searched for him in the canal for 32 hours continuously, the flow of water was also reduced and divers were also called for help, but he was not found. The family was in shock. Meanwhile, at around 11 pm, his body was found stuck in the bushes in the canal near village Tamkot, which was taken out and then his last rites were performed in Ram Bagh Tapa. The deceased used to work in a private job at a shop in the Mandi.
