May 29 (Punjab Khabarnama) : The havoc of severe heat in Punjab has affected the lives of people. Many people have died due to heat so far. Talking about Bathinda, 4 people died due to heat at different places in the city. 2 people died at the railway station due to heat, while another person died on Goods Warehouse Road.
All three were homeless and destitute and no identity documents were found with them. Similarly, Mukand Lal (60), a resident of Gidderbaha, died due to heat on Mall Road, whose body was taken to the Civil Hospital by the members of the organization. In these cases, the police of GRP and Sadar police station are taking further action. Apart from this, 2 people fainted due to heat on Santpura Road and Goods Warehouse Road, who were taken to the hospital by the organization for treatment.
The heat wave continues in the district and the homeless and helpless people are bearing the brunt of it. On Tuesday, the temperature of the district was recorded at 47.2 degrees Celsius and the sky kept raining fire throughout the day. Due to the scorching heat, people remained confined to their homes, while the markets and main roads remained deserted throughout the day.
