May 28 (Punjab Khabarnama) : Heat wave continues in many states of the country including Punjab. On Monday, the temperature crossed 48 degrees Celsius at 17 places in the country. The continuous heat wave in large parts of North-West and Central India is affecting the health and lives of the people. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has predicted rain in the north-western and central states including Punjab in the coming days.
The head of the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said that due to western disturbance and moisture from the Arabian Sea, some relief from the heat is expected after 3 days. The temperature in Punjab also crossed 48 degrees
On Monday, people had to face deadly heat. The temperature crossed 48 degrees Celsius at 17 places. Phalodi in Rajasthan was the hottest place in the country with 49.4 degrees Celsius. The temperature reached 48.4 degrees in Punjab’s Bathinda, 48.4 degrees in Haryana’s Sirsa, 48.8 degrees in Delhi’s Mungeshpur, 48.7 degrees in Madhya Pradesh’s Niwari and 48.1 degrees in Uttar Pradesh’s Jhansi.
