May 23 (Punjab Khabarnama) : To meet the ever increasing demand for electricity in most areas of the metropolis, new projects are being set up every day in different areas of the city by the officials of Punjab State Power Corporation. In this series, the capacity of 20 MVA power transformer installed in Noorwala area is being increased to 31.5 by the team of Punjab State Power Corporation SE, East Surjit Singh under the leadership of Chief Engineer of the department Inderpal Singh. Whose work will be completed in about a week.

Surjeet Singh said that once the above project is started in the area, not only will the problem of increasing electricity load be almost eliminated, but this project will also provide great relief to the industries and domestic consumers of the area. During an exclusive conversation with the reporter told that in Noorwala area, 4 transformers of 31.5 MVA capacity are already running separately, but due to the increasing demand for electricity during the summer season, electricity problems are arising in some areas. Due to this, 20 MVA installed by the department on the spot. Emphasis is being laid on eliminating power shortage by upgrading the fifth power transformer with 31.5 capacity power transportation technology.
He said that the department is making efforts on war footing to provide electricity to every consumer as per demand. In response to a question, S.E. said that no city resident should face electricity shortage. Surjit Singh said that the direct benefit of increasing the capacity of electricity transformers installed in the area by the Powercom Department is from Shivpuri Chowk to Basti Jodhewal Chowk, Santosh Nagar, Guru Nanak Nagar, Madhopuri, Kuldeep Nagar, Basti Mani Singh, Subhash Nagar, Gagandeep Colony, Traders, businessmen, industrialists and domestic consumers of many areas falling under Noorwala Road including Master Colony, Kali Sadak, Kailash Nagar etc.
Due to the initiative taken by Chief Engineer Inderpal Singh, a new power house is being established by the Powercom Department at a cost of Rs 5 crore in the new vegetable market located at Karabara Chowk. In which a new project will be established on 2606 yards of land of Palak Market of Sabzi Mandi and generate 31.5 MW electricity on war footing to overcome the electricity shortage in hundreds of areas falling around Bahadur K Road, Kakowal Road, Kali Sadak, Jalandhar Bypass in Shivpuri. Work is being done on. SDO of Powercom Department State Division. In order to make the electricity supply in Salem Tabri area stronger than before, Shivkumar has recently installed new electricity transformers in Piru Banda area as well, due to which the industries and domestic consumers located in the area have got great relief.
