May 21 (Punjab Khabarnama) : Purvanchal Morcha Chairman T.R. Mishra, Purvanchal Wing President Rajesh Mishra and other leaders of Purvanchal society warned the Congress leadership to present an apology within 2 days for the controversial statement of Congress candidate Sukhpal Khaira, otherwise Congress candidates will be opposed in the elections and Rahul Gandhi will not be allowed to enter Punjab for election campaign.
Addressing the press conference, Mishra said that Sukhpal Singh Khaira’s statement is the result of poor thinking of Congress, which is talking about breaking the community. Recalling the statements of former Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi during the assembly elections, Mishra said that such statements have led to the plight of Congress in Punjab. Congress President Mallika Arjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi and Punjab Congress President Raja Vading should show Sukhpal Khaira the way out.
Congress cannot escape by merely shrugging off this statement, Purvanchali people come to Punjab to work hard and as laborers and are making valuable contribution to the progress of Punjab. Similarly, Punjabis are also contributing by working hard in other parts of the country, Sukhpal Khaira’s statement which is creating division in the society will also be complained to the Election Commission and effigies of Congress will be burnt in entire Punjab.
