Jalandhar, May 20 : In order to ensure that the Counting staff performs it duty efficiently during the counting of votes for the Jalandhar Parliamentary Constituency on June 4, the district administration today organized a training program for the counting staff at CT Institute campus.
Divulging the details, the Deputy Commissioner cum District Election Officer Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal said that during the training the concerned Assistant Returning Officers (AROs) and Master trainers of the various assembly segments apprised the staff about the key points involving the counting of votes.
He said that the staff was informed about the method of counting votes from the Electronic Voting Machines. He further said that the counting of votes would be held at the office of the Director Land Records in the presence of the representatives of the political parties and candidates.
DEO said that counting of votes would take place on June 4 and a large numbers of employees will carry out this mammoth exercise.
The counting the staff would be divided into different teams on each table in every assembly segment. The DEO said that no stone would be left unturned to ensure that the counting was held in a peaceful and transparent manner.
Dr. Aggarwal said that elaborate arrangements would be made by the district administration for ensuring that the counting for the Lok Sabha polls was held smoothly and in a hassle free manner. He reiterated that election duty was a national service and everyone should perform it diligently.
