Barnala, May 15 : Under the directions of District Election Officer Barnala Mrs. Punamdeep Kaur, as a part of voter awareness campaign being conducted in the district Barnala, the people are being motivated to cast their vote on June 1. Continuing the efforts to create enmasse awareness among voters, the eminent para glider from Dhanaula, Inder Singh Dhaliwal performed aerial stunts by paragliding at Sacred Heart Convent School Raikot Road.
Also at the same time the students of Sacred Heart Convent School made a map of India with human chain and inspired people to exercise their right to vote.
Speaking on the occasion, Additional District Election Officer Anuprita Johal said that various voter awareness activities are being conducted in the district under the guidelines of District Election Officer Mrs. Punamdeep Kaur so that this time on June 1, 2024, more than 70 percent people vote on the election day. She said that under this series, ‘Desh Da Garv, Chonan Da Parv’ human chain was made with the support of school children at Mehal Kalan on Tuesday and also a voter awareness cultural event was held. Apart from this, activities are also being conducted at the village level to educate the people at the polling stations, election schools, announcements in gurudwaras and at the booth level.
Similarly, this message was given a new shape with the help of para-glider Inder Singh Dhaliwal while carrying forward the voter awareness campaign. On this occasion, different teams of school children and election staff were present, who encouraged Inder Dhaliwal by clapping enthusiastically. Inder Dhaliwal also displayed election poster during his flight.
Along with this, the school children inspired the voters to exercise their right to vote by making a human chain of the map of India and the logo of the Election Commission in the school playground. On this occasion, the school encouraged use of voting through a cultural event.
