May 3 (Punjab Khabarnama) : Due to farmers’ protest, trains continue to be affected, due to which passengers are facing huge problems. Meanwhile, Shatabdi, which comes under the superfast category, is arriving at the city station several hours late than its scheduled time, due to which people have to face problems. At the same time, Swaraj Express is running late by 3 and a half hours, Hirakund Express by 3 hours, Sachkhand Express by 4 hours, Amrapali Express by 3.30 minutes.
Due to the delay of trains, onward passengers were seen waiting at the station for a long time. People are demanding from the government that proper steps should be taken regarding their problem so that they can get relief. At the same time, the series of train cancellations will continue in the coming days. Around 50 trains have been canceled by the railways.
Among them, about 2 dozen trains are related to Jalandhar and Cantt stations which will remain canceled till May 4. According to the list sent by the department, the canceled trains on May 3 and 4 include train numbers 14681-14682 (Jalandhar City-New Delhi), 04689-04690 (Jalandhar City-Ambala), 14033-14034 (Old Delhi-Mata Vaishno Devi). Katra), 12497-12498 (New Delhi-Amritsar), 22429- 22430 (Old Delhi-Pathankot), 12459-12460 (New Delhi- Amritsar), 12053-12054 (Haridwar- Amritsar), 14653-14654 (Hisar- Amritsar) , 12411-12412 (Chandigarh Amritsar), 12241-12242 (Amritsar Chandigarh) etc. trains are included.
