Blood donation camp organized under sweep activity in collaboration with District Red Cross Society
May 2 (Punjab Khabarnama) : Under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Komal Mittal, a blood donation camp was organized by Punjab Roadways Hoshiarpur Depot in collaboration with District Red Cross Society at Bus Stand Hoshiarpur under the theme of Blood Donation for Life , Voting for Strong Democracy. During this, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Rahul Chaba arrived and encouraged the blood donors by honoring them. On this occasion, DSP Amarnath, Regional Transport Officer R.S. Gill, GM Punjab Roadways Hoshiarpur Depot Jasvir Singh Kotla, District Sweep Nodal Officer Preet Kohli, Assistant Public Relations Officer Lokesh Kumar were also present.
101 blood donors donated blood in the blood donation camp organized under the sweep activity. On this occasion, ADC Rahul Chaba said that blood donation is very important for a healthy body and voting is very important for strengthening democracy. Therefore, both blood donation and voting must be done. He said that for a strong democracy, it is important for more and more voters to be aware of their voting rights. He said that voters’ awareness and moral participation in the election process It is an important aspect to develop voting rights, under which voters are being made aware and encouraged about their voting rights. He said that June 1 is the election festival in the country and everyone must exercise their franchise on this day. Appealing to the common people to donate blood, he said that blood donation is a great work and is a part of our rich culture and tradition of service and cooperation. Blood donation not only fulfills the national need but it is also a great service towards society and humanity. He said that the blood donated by us can save many lives.
Addressing the people present in the camp, General Manager Punjab Roadways Hoshiarpur Jasvir Singh Kotla said that blood donation is an act of charity. Through blood donation one person gives new life to another. Jasveer Singh Kotla also administered the oath of voting to all the people present in the blood donation camp. In the blood donation camp, many officers, employees and common people including senior officers also donated blood voluntarily. Apart from this, by giving appreciation letters and fruit plants to the people who donated blood in the camp. was awarded .
