April 23 (Punjab Khabarnama) : The news of death of a boxing player due to drug overdose has come to light in Sangrur. The youth has been identified as boxing player Kulveer Singh (22). He had won medals at the national level in boxing and was the only son of his parents.
In this regard, the deceased’s mother Malkit Kaur said that her son got trapped in bad company and started taking drugs. He used to buy drugs from Sabra gang. The mother told that she had complained about this to the police several times but the police did not take any action. Malkit Kaur told that her son was found unconscious at home, after which he was immediately taken to the hospital but he was declared dead by the doctors. He has demanded that strict action should be taken regarding this matter so that the youth of Punjab can be saved from the trap of drugs.
