April 20 (Punjab Khabarnama) : Kaithal, Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer, Sh. Prashant Panwar said that in a move towards digitization, the Election Commission has made it possible to perform important election-related tasks online. The Election Commission has launched the Digital Voter Identity Card or Electronic Electoral Photo Identity Card (e-EPIC) facility across the country.

He said that if a voter’s voter ID has been lost or they want to save a digital copy of their voter card, they can easily download their voter card on their mobile or computer from the Voter Helpline app or the Election Commission’s website voters.eci.gov.in. Importantly, the digital voter card e-EPIC can also be uploaded to the DigiLocker and it can also be printed.
e-EPIC: A non-editable PDF version of the original voter ID card
Sh. Panwar said that the e-EPIC voter card is a non-editable PDF version of the original voter ID card. The PDF version of the voter ID can also be used as an address proof along with identity. This digital ID proof can be easily accessed by storing it on a mobile phone or DigiLocker.
How to Download Digital Voter ID Card
He stated that to download the digital card, visit the National Voter Portal eci.gov.in. New users will need to register themselves. Then click on the option to download e-EPIC. Then enter the e-EPIC number or form reference number. An OTP will come on the registered mobile number. After that, the option to download e-EPIC will be available.
