April 17 (Punjab Khabarnama) : Bharti Kisan Union Ekta Ugrahan, District Malerkotla, under the leadership of District President Kulwinder Singh Bhudan, organized an earth blowing demonstration. Giving information to the press, District General Secretary Kewal Singh Bhari has said that at Malerkotla, BJP leader Arvind Khanna was coming to hold a booth meeting, which was organized under the leadership of Bharatiya Kisan Union Ekta Ugrahan District President Kulwinder Singh Bhudan and District General Secretary Kewal Singh Bhari. Arvind Khanna arrived with flags to protest, then on the orders of Bhagwant Mann Sarkar of Punjab, Malerkotla SSP Dr. Simrat Kaur led by 3 DSP Gurdev Singh Malerkotla, Ranjit Singh Bains Special Branch and SH including Satish Kumar. A large number of police lathi-charged the farmers and the turbans were removed and the farmers were detained. About 3 dozen farmers including district president Kulwinder Singh were put in buses and taken to Himtana police post and about 10 farmers along with district general secretary Kewal Singh Bhari were kept on hunger strike at CIA Mahorana. Arvind Khanna’s effigy was blown up in front of the Malerkotla BJP office against the lathi charge on farmers. Farmer leaders while addressing said that Bhagwant Mann government gave proof of BJP’s B team because on the orders of Bhagwant Mann the police administration of Malerkotla lathi-charged, due to which there is a lot of protest among the farmers. The farmers announced that Aam Aadmi Party candidate Minister Meet Hare will be strongly opposed in the villages. District Leaders Nirmal Singh Alipur, Rajinder Singh Bhogiwal, Ravinder Singh Kasampur, Gurpreet Singh Amargarh General Secretary of Ludhiana District Sudgar Singh Ghudani, Yuvraj Singh Ghudani, Malkit Singh Hedike, Balwant Singh Chhannan and other leaders were present in the Earth Fook protest.
