April 16 (Punjab Khabarnama) : The procurement process of wheat is going on at all the government procurement centers of the district and wheat is being procured by various agencies. Till yesterday evening, 10219 metric tons of wheat has arrived in the markets of the district, out of which 3079 metric tons of wheat has been purchased from various agencies and due payments are being made to the farmers. This information was given by Deputy Commissioner Mr. Vineet Kumar.
The Deputy Commissioner said that he appealed to the farmers not to burn the waste of wheat crop and mix it in the fields itself so that the environment can be protected from pollution. He said that the district administration has taken special care of other necessary facilities apart from drinking water and toilets in view of the summer season. He said that farmers, artisans and laborers will not be allowed to face any kind of problem in the markets.
He appealed to the farmers to harvest the wheat between 06.00 am to 07.00 pm only so that the amount of moisture in the wheat is not high.
District Food and Supply Controller Mrs. Vandana Kamboj said that 70 procurement centers have been established in the district for smooth and smooth procurement of wheat. Apart from this, 8 RG procurement centers have been established.
