Commission has created Saksham app with the aim of making the exercise of voting rights easy and convenient for the disabled people.

Chandigarh, April 13 (Punjab Khabarnama) : Election Commission of India is making important efforts to ensure participation of all sections in the elections. Under these efforts, Saksham App has been created with the aim of making the exercise of voting rights easy and convenient for the disabled people. Considering the convenience of disabled persons, this mobile app is a boon for disabled voters.

The spokesperson said that persons with disabilities can use this app to avail various voter-centric services related to elections. He said that the interface of the Saksham app has been adapted to the needs of the disabled people. Through the Saksham app, a disabled voter can check his/her name in the voter list, find the location of the polling booth and request for a wheelchair to reach the booth. One can register himself as a new voter, request for correction in voter card, linking voter card with Aadhaar or other types of services related to the electoral process. One can even get information about the candidates contesting the elections.

He told that through Saksham app, disabled voter can contact for any kind of problem regarding voting and can also register complaint. Apart from this, many articles for enhancing knowledge related to elections are also available on Saksham app. Download Saksham app from Google Play Store on your Android mobile. As soon as the app is opened, there will be options for voter registration, facilities at polling booth, information related to voter card and information and complaint. After this the app can be used for other facilities.
