Amritsar, April 12 (Punjab Khabarnama) : This is not the first time that the son of Beant Singh, who fired shots at former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, has announced to contest elections. Sarabjit Singh started his political career in 2004. In 2004, he contested the Lok Sabha elections for the first time from Bathinda and secured 1,13,490 votes. In 2007, he also contested the Vidhan Sabha elections from the Bhadod seat of Barnala. Then he got only 15,702 votes.
In fact, the son of Beant Singh, who shot at former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, has now decided to contest the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Beant Singh’s son Sarabjit Singh Khalsa has announced to contest independent election from Faridkot (SC), which has become the seat of star candidates. Karamjit Singh Anmol from Aam Aadmi Party and Hans Raj Hans from BJP have been fielded from this constituency so far.
