More than 350 cyclists participated in the ‘Sachdeva Stocks Hoshiarpur Cyclothon’ organized with the cooperation of the district administration
Professional cyclists from India and abroad showed their strength in 100 and 200 km cycling events

Hoshiarpur, April 7 (Punjab Khabarnama) : Hoshiarpur residents showed great enthusiasm in the large-scale cyclothon event ‘Sachdeva Stocks Hoshiarpur Cyclothon’ organized by Fit Bikers Club in collaboration with the district administration. Professional cyclists from different states of the country as well as abroad, aged between 8 years to 80 years, participated in this cyclothon organized on the theme of voter awareness and ‘drug-free Punjab’ for the Lok Sabha elections 2024. In this event, 300 participants took part in 100 km cycling and 35 participants in 200 km cycling.
First of all, the cyclothon was flagged off by SSP Hoshiarpur Surendra Lamba, President of Fit Bikers Club Paramjeet Singh Sachdeva, DSP Amarnath and District SWEEP Nodal Officer Preet Kohli. Paramjeet Singh Sachdeva said that cyclists Dr. Amit Samarth, Dr. Pawan Dhingra, Ravi Badesha, Adil Teli, Megha Jain, who have achieved a position in the field of cycling all over the world, specially participated and graced this event. During this, these international cyclists were also honored by the SSP.
SSP Surendra Lamba, while addressing all the cyclists and volunteers participating in the event, said that all eligible voters must exercise their right to vote in the Lok Sabha elections-2024 and cooperate in building a strong democracy. He said that Punjab Police is running a continuous campaign with the aim of making the state drug-free and we all have to take a pledge and move forward in this direction on this event organized on the theme of ‘Nasha Mukt Punjab’. He said that such events are the need of the hour for a healthy society. Praising the Fit Bikers Club, he said that with the success of the event, district Hoshiarpur will be known at the national level. He appealed to the youth to pay more attention to sports and show solidarity against drugs. He said that the enthusiasm shown by the youth and the elderly proves that in the coming times, Hoshiarpur will develop as a cycling hub.
Fit Bikers Club President Paramjit Singh Sachdeva also thanked the District Administration, Century Plywood, volunteers and other supporting organizations for their support in the Cyclothon. He also thanked Charanjit Singh of Paddle and Saddle Club, Garhshankar, who extended full support in this event. He said that Pritam Singh from Calgary had come specially to participate in the cycling event. He said that the main objective of this Cyclothon is to attract national attention that Hoshiarpur district can be developed as a cycling hub. He said that about 100 volunteers have worked hard for three months continuously in the preparations of the event. On this occasion, Vice President of Fit Bikers Club Munir Nazar, Secretary Uttam Singh Sabi, Principal Rakesh Kumar, Ankur Sharma, Lecturer Sandeep Sood and other dignitaries were also present.
