DC Aashika Jain Takes Stock of Preparations and lends ear to the problems of Arhtiyas

Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, March 20, 2024 (Punjab khabarnama) : Deputy Commissioner Mrs Aashika Jain today reviewed the procurement season arrangements of ensuing Rabi Marketing Season with the officials of procurement agencies and Mandi Board. She also lent patient hearing to the Arhtiyas of the district on this occasion and assured them of uninterrupted procurement.
Divulging the details, the Deputy Commissioner, Mrs Jain said that district has set up 17 procurement centers for Rabi season, by adding that district expects an arrival of 130708 MT of wheat in the Mandis.
She directs the officials to keep all the arrangements in place like cleanliness of Mandis, smooth approach to the Mandis, arrangement of tripolins to face inclined weather conditions, proper checking of weigh machines, flood lights, drinking water, transportation and storage etc.
Taking the problems of Arhtiyas  (Commission  Agents) of the district who were invited in the meeting to run the season smoothly with their active participation, Deputy Commissioner Mrs Jain said that the issues related to space crunch in some of the district mandis raised by the Arhtiyas have been passed on to the District Mandi Officer for timely disposal. Beisdes, the administration would also rope in district police for steamline traffic during the arrival of wheat in the Mandis.
Deputy Commissioner assured the Arhtiyas to redress all issues positively so that they would have to face no problem during the procurement season.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (G) Viraj S Tidke, District Mandi Officer Gagan deep Singh, District Food Supply Controller Vijay Kumar Singla and district heads of the various procurement agencies were also present in the meeting.
