March 12 (Punjab Khabarnama): Adani Group Chairperson Gautam Adani has met Qualcomm CEO Cristiano R. Amon. Gautam Adani informed about this meeting through a tweet on social media platform X on Monday. He said he learned a lot from the Qualcomm CEO. I am impressed by the American company’s vision of artificial intelligence (AI), emerging technologies in India and semiconductors.

Adani Group may enter semiconductor manufacturing
After this meeting of Gautam Adani with the CEO of Qualcomm, the possibility of Adani group getting into semiconductor manufacturing has strengthened. The CEO of Adani Group wrote that the meeting with the CEO of Qualcomm was excellent. He has great ideas about India. American chip maker Qualcomm has a clear policy towards different markets in the world.

Micron Technology plant will start this year
India has made rapid efforts to promote semiconductor manufacturing in the country. A semiconductor plant of American company Micron Technology is being built in Sanand, Gujarat. Assembly, Test, Marking and Packaging (ATMP) will be done at this plant. Micron Technology is spending around Rs 22500 crore on this plant. It will be the country’s first high-end semiconductor fabrication plant. The plant is expected to be operational by the end of 2024.

Tower and Tata Group have also given proposals
Apart from this, the government recently received a proposal from Israel’s Tower Semiconductor and Tata Group to build the plant. Apart from these two, the government is currently considering the proposals of many companies. Recently, IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnav had told that about 5000 people are working in the Micron Technology plant. The Government of India had recently approved the setting up of three more semiconductor units.
