Ludhiana February 10 (Punjab khabarnama) : Lok Manch Punjab, in collaboration with Punjabi Sahitya Academy Ludhiana, organized a public presentation and discussion event of Shiromani Punjabi novelist Baldev Singh Moga’s new novel “Yashodhara” at Punjabi Bhawan, Ludhiana. The event was presided over by Dr. Waryam Singh Sandhu, Prof. Gurbhajan Singh Gill and Dr. Lakhwinder Singh Johal.
Speaking on this occasion, Shiromani storyteller and historian Dr. Variam Singh Sandhu said that Baldev Singh Moga has touched the subject of the marginalized historical woman by writing Yashodhara novel. He said that we remember the slogans of Gadar movement and national war of freedom, but we do not understand the pain of the women of those houses. Baldev Singh has shown us the journey of Siddhartha to Buddhahood through Yashodhara.
Prof. Gurbhajan Singh Gill, President of Punjabi Folk Heritage Academy, said that through Yashodhara, Baldev Singh has presented the inner pain of a woman’s mind. He concluded his talk with a quote from his 2003 poem “Kapilvastu Udas Hai”. Still every day, Kapilavastu waits,
To his son Siddhartha.
He knew that the tree of Bodh Gaya had eaten his son and what remained was Buddha.
The streets of Kapil goods, the streets and crowded markets, even today they wake up early in the morning. They wait every day. They think that after getting off the royal chariot, he will surely come. He will surely return in the late morning. He will wander in the narrow dark streets. Kapil Vastu believes that the dark nights in their homes,
It will end only with the return of Siddhartha. Kapil is waiting for Gautama, not Buddha. At least for Siddhartha, who is very young.
Yashodhara still does not fly the white chuni on the head. Rahul has woken up from a deep sleep. He is treading on his father’s footsteps, he should not get lost. He is allowed to play only within the walls of the palace.
The old father and mother look for shelter. They need a shoulder, not the sun.
