The kite flying competitions organized during the state level spring fair will be conducted under the themes dedicated to environment conservation, women empowerment , gender equality , respect and fair treatment of the disabled , voting and fair use . This was expressed by the Deputy Commissioner Mr. Rajesh Dhiman during a special meeting with the officials of various departments of the district and representatives of non-governmental organizations regarding the preparations of the state level Basant Panchami Kite Mela.

On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Chief Minister S. Under the series of fairs started in the state by the Punjab government led by Bhagwant Singh Maan to promote the traditional and heritage fairs of the state to the country and the world and further increase the interest of the people towards these fairs, on 10 and 11 February 2024 at Ferozepur. State in Shaheed Bhagat Singh State University stratified the spring Panchami Kite Mela is being organized. He said that during this fair, through kite flying competitions, people will be made aware of environmental protection and making the environment pollution-free, equality between sons and daughters, women’s power , respect and fair treatment of the disabled in the society , vote making and proper use. .  

He said that the knockout competitions of kite flying will start from February 5 , 2024 , about which the contestants will be informed through a message. Men , women and children who wish to participate in kite competitions can do their free registration on the website www.kitefestivalferozepur2024.in .

He said that due to the efforts of Punjab Tourism and Cultural Affairs Minister Miss Anmol Gagan Mann, efforts will be made to promote this fair at the national and international level . He said that during the Kite Fair, the winner of the first place in the men’s kite flying competition will be given a prize of 1 lakh and similarly the winner of the first place in the women’s kite flying competition will also be given a prize of 1 lakh. He said that among boys and girls aged 10 to 18 years, the winners will be given prizes of 25 thousand rupees each. Apart from this, the winner of the NRI category kite competition will be given a prize of 51 thousand rupees. There will be a separate kite competition for the disabled category.

He said that the most attractive competition in kite flying competitions will be the “biggest kite flying competition” and the winner of this competition will be awarded a prize of Rs 2 lakh. He said that there will be a complete ban on the use of China Door in these competitions by the Punjab government and the district administration, conveying the message of moral responsibility towards the environment and life safety. Traditional food stalls will be set up in this fair and famous Punjabi singers Amrit Maan and Jagjit Jiti and other famous artists will entertain the people during the fair . He invited the people to come and enjoy this state level fair . On this occasion, he also released the poster of the state level Basant Panchami Mela.
